positive influence: a 1-day workshop

master the gentle art of buy-in

Wednesday 23rd October 2019

You have ideas. You have projects and initiatives that you need to get off the ground. But here’s the rub — unless you can get others on board, those ideas aren’t going anywhere. So how do you build willing and enthusiastic support for your ideas — where people work with you, not because they have to, but because they want to? Enter the gentle art of buy-in.

Join Simon Dowling — author of “Work with Me: How to get people to buy into your ideas” — for this highly practical 1-day workshop.

Who is this workshop for?

This 1-day event is perfect for anyone who wants to:

  • generate support for their ideas, regardless of your position

  • influence without authority

  • deal with pushback and resistance from stakeholders

  • engage and align stakeholders around projects and initiatives

  • turn agreement into sustainable action

  • build strong relationships of influence.

Perhaps your focus is on internal stakeholders - such as colleagues, team members, senior leaders or different parts of your organisation? Or maybe you’re needing to better influence external stakeholders such as customers, clients or partners. This course is equally relevant to all those contexts.

Here is what some recent participants are saying about this course…

“Excellent course- Challenges you to think and reflect on your leadership, level of effectiveness and your approach.”

“Great course providing insight and techniques for today’s corporate life. Highly recommend!”

“Valuable to everything I do.”

“Simon arms you with practical frameworks and tools to use across your every day situations from simple corridor conversations to delivering projects.”

“Simon was a terrific facilitator. I finished the session feeling inspired and energised to put what I had learned into practice.”

Still not sure if it’s for you? Drop us a line and ask.

The learning experience

This is a roll-your-sleeves-up kind of a day. The workshop covers a wide range of tools and techniques, and you’ll have plenty of opportunity to put them into practice on the day. A huge part of the value of this course comes from the ample opportunity to receive coaching and tips from Simon Dowling - and to learn from others in the room. We’ll be keeping the group small to make sure this is a highly interactive experience.

You'll walk away from this course feeling inspired to make a real and lasting impact in your organisation, your industry and your community.

Before & after

The key to any training session is not what happens in the classroom, but what happens before and after the event.

We’ve designed the overall experience to make sure you get the most out of the workshop by supporting you while you practise your new skills in real life.

Before the workshop

Simon will run a 60 minute webinar to cover some key principles. This means we can hit the ground running on Day 1. The webinar will be live, but we will record it for those who can’t be online or who want watch at their own pace. Either way we’ll be assuming everyone has seen it before we start the workshop.

After the workshop

Participants also have the opportunity to contact Simon with questions and reflect on their experience since the workshop.
